Mount Elbrus is located in the western Caucasus mountain range, in Kabardino-Balkaria, Russia, near the border of Georgia. It is the highest mountain in the Caucasus. Mount Elbrus (west summit) is 5,642 metres (18,510 ft) and is considered to be the highest mountain in Europe; it is also the highest point of Russia.
